You can apply for a Council Tax discount disregard if a member of your household is detained In prison by order of a court or placed in a hospital/ place of safety under the Mental Health Act 1983
If you are the only person over the age of 18 living in the property because of this, you will be entitled to a Council Tax reduction of 25%. (This does not apply if a person is in prison for not paying a fine or Council Tax).
