Ending your Council tenancy

Leaving the property in good condition

Council tenancy agreements require your home to be left in good condition when you move out.

You will have to pay for the repair or replacement of any items damaged by neglect or misuse. You will also have to pay for work to fix or change back any unauthorised alterations you have made to the property.

We will inspect the property before you leave and again as soon as possible after we know you have moved out. You must agree a time for us to visit before the end of the tenancy.

You must remove all your belongings and rubbish when you move out. If you leave anything behind, we will remove and dispose of it. You will be asked to pay for any storage or disposal costs.
