Possession Action: Guide for private landlords

The Government have published a guide that will help landlords to understand what rights and responsibilities they have and when they need to use the courts to take possession of their property. The guide is for people who are letting a house, flat or any part thereof in England and Wales to tenants in the private rented sector while living in another property. This guide is focused on landlords letting to tenants on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy or an Assured Tenancy. This guide includes the new arrangements which will be introduced in association with the lifting of the suspension of possession cases in the county court on 21 September 2020.
