Make a referral or enquiry
The Hearing Impairment Service work closely with children, parents, carers, educational settings and other professionals to ensure the needs of deaf and hearing impaired children and their families are met. The Hearing Impairment Team is made up of Qualified Teachers of the Deaf, Teachers of the Deaf, an Educational Audiologist, Experienced and Qualified Specialist Support Staff, a Deaf Instructor and Family Support Worker.
The Hearing Impairment Team accept new referrals from any source and promise to visit or contact you within three working weeks. Referrals are also received from:
- Rotherham Hospital Audiology Department - the standard is to visit babies within 48 hours and school age children within 3 working weeks
- Speech and language community
- Schools
