Constituency Review 2023

Aston & Todwick ward is currently within the Rother Valley constituency, and this will remain the case when the new Parliamentary constituency boundaries come into force.

Current arrangements

There is potential for the following housing developments:

• ASB: Approx 227 properties with an estimated polling station electorate of 294
• ASC: Approx 354 properties, with an estimated polling station electorate increase of 465

(Acting) Returning Officer’s comments and proposals

1. The (Acting) Returning Officer notes that polling district ASB’s electorate could slightly exceed the recommended maximum number of polling station electors when considering the potential housing developments. Given these are projected figures and the turnout at the last Parliamentary election in 2019 was 67.6% the (Acting) Returning Officer does not propose any changes at this time. However, the polling station electorate and turnouts will be kept under review and if necessary, an interim review will be conducted to consider changes to the polling district. 
2. The (Acting) Returning Officer is not aware of any issues or concerns about the polling districts or polling places in Aston & Todwick ward and therefore does not propose any changes to the existing arrangements.
