Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005: Statements of Policy

The Council is keen to fully understand the impact the licensed entertainment and hospitality industry has on local communities through sales of alcohol, regulated entertainment and sales of hot food and drink, and licensed gambling establishments. The Council is equally interested both in terms of the positive impact and negative impacts on local amenity, economy, health, social harm and crime.

Clean Air Zone Public Consultation 2019

In July 2017 the Government announced its first National Air Quality Plan. Based on national modelling, the plan requires Rotherham and Sheffield to work together to reduce levels of Nitrogen Dioxide in the atmosphere.

We would like your views on our proposals and the outlined potential additional measures to improve air quality in our area. We would also like to hear your views on financial support or exemptions that could be put in place to help people affected.

Consultation on non-residential charging policy for adult social care service

Rotherham Council is proposing to change the policy for how people are charged for adult social care service that they receive at home. We are currently consulting on the proposal and we welcome your feedback.

It is important for the council to understand what you have to say about the proposal before it makes any decisions.

Adoption of a House to House Collection Policy

The Council receives applications from a number of organisations each year and the Council's Licensing Board considers the issuing of permits to authorise these collections. The Council does not have to adopt a policy in relation to the application process for House to House Collection Permits, and historically has not had a policy in place. However, it is now considered that having a clear and transparent policy will assist applicants to understand the process of applying for a licence and the information required, as well as enabling more consistent decision making by the Council.

Amendment to the General Enforcement Policy

The Council's current General Enforcement Policy was introduced in 2014/15, and has been amended a number of times since. The Council has now decided that it is the right time to formally review and redraft the policy and seek the views of local people, businesses and other interested parties on the revised policy.

Area Housing Panel Review Consultation

We are consulting on the future of Area Housing Panels. Area Housing Panels (AHPs) are located across the borough. These Panels provide a great opportunity for tenants to work with the Council on issues that matter to them, including the quality of our services, our performance and how we can continue to improve.
